Governors of the six North-East states have announced plans to establish a regional airline to ease the movement of people and goods across the region.

Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum and Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, said N15.8 billion has been raised towards the establishment of the North-East Air Shuttle.

He said the governors expect to raise the remaining funds before the end of the year. Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states are part of the initiative.

The governors said the airline would improve transportation, strengthen regional integration and support economic development across the North-East.
