The All Progressives Congress (APC) has ramped up its grassroots mobilization in Yobe State, leading a high-powered delegation on a royal tour of four key emirates Machina, Bade, Yusufari, and Nguru to secure the blessings and prayers of traditional rulers for the party's candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The delegation, led by the Yobe APC State Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka, is part of an extensive consultation strategy designed to rally the influential traditional institution behind the party's governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali, and his running mate, Barr. Saleh Samanja.
"This visit is to seek the fatherly support, prayers, and guidance of the Emirs and the traditional institution," Gadaka explained.
He highlighted the indispensable role of community leaders in shaping electoral outcomes, calling on party members to stay united and work collectively toward victory.
During the visit to the Machina Emirate, the monarch, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Bashir Albishir Bukar, offered a resounding personal endorsement of the APC flagbearer, describing him as a figure of remarkable patience, unwavering loyalty, and sterling integrity.
"I have known Wali for many years and am familiar with his character. His patience, loyalty, and integrity have earned him respect," the Emir stated.
He further praised Senator Ibrahim Gaidam and Governor Mai Mala Buni for their strategic roles in ensuring Wali's emergence as the party's governorship candidate.
In his response, Baba Malam Wali expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception and prayers offered by the royal fathers.
He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership and vowed to build upon and consolidate the developmental milestones achieved by previous APC administrations in the state.
The journey to the Yobe North Emirates is just one leg of a broader statewide engagement with traditional institutions.
Earlier, the APC delegation paid similar homage visits to the Emir of Bade, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman;the Emir of Yusufari, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammad Ibn-Zakaria; and the Emir of Nguru, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mai Mustapha Ibn Kyari, at their respective palaces to seek their spiritual guidance and blessings as the 2027 election season gathers momentum.
