Dr. Mukhtar Yerima ,the Betara of Gujba Emirate, has received an Award of Excellence from the Gulani Local Government Foundation for Out-of-School and Vulnerable Children in recognition of his steadfast commitment to improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in the area.
At the award presentation ceremony, the Foundation lauded Dr. Yerima for his compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to advancing the welfare and education of disadvantaged children.
As part of its ongoing support initiative, the Foundation also presented him with copies of books and school bags, expressing optimism that his involvement would lead to further educational assistance for children in need.
In his response, Dr. Yerima expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that vulnerable children gain access to quality education and the support necessary for their success.
He directed the Foundation to carry out a comprehensive assessment of out-of-school and vulnerable children across all schools in Gulani Local Government Area.
Dr. Yerima urged the Foundation to collaborate closely with headteachers, headmasters, and principals to identify deserving beneficiaries through a transparent and credible process.
Dr. Yerima emphasized that the assessment would yield accurate data essential for planning effective interventions and ensuring that educational support reaches the children who need it most.
He stressed that cooperation with school authorities is vital to achieving this objective.
Concluding his address, Dr. Mukhtar Yerima pledged that, In Sha Allah, he would continue to support orphans, vulnerable children, and out-of-school children through educational assistance and other humanitarian initiatives.
He called on community leaders, educators, and development partners to join forces in ensuring that every child in Gulani Local Government Area has the opportunity to receive an education and realize their full potential.
