YSCHMA Holds Town Hall Meeting in Damaturu, Pledges Improved Healthcare Service Delivery
The Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA), supported by CHESDA, hosted a one-day quarterly town hall meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Timbab Continental Hotel, Damaturu.
The event brought together enrollees, healthcare providers, stakeholders, and development partners to address complaints, debunk misconceptions, and gather feedback to boost service utilization.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Dr. Baba Gana Tijjani, the Director of Standard and Quality Assurance, Dr. Isah Adamu, reaffirmed the agency's commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
He noted that the scheme's success hinges on stakeholder confidence and participation, while commending Governor Mai Mala Buni for his unwavering financial support and the Ministry of Health for its collaboration.
In a technical presentation, Director of Programmes, Hajiya Maryam Alkali, emphasized that the meeting aimed to educate enrollees on their rights and responsibilities under the scheme.
Participants offered valuable suggestions, while a panel session featuring healthcare providers, beneficiaries, and the NLC extensively discussed client satisfaction and the enrollment process.
YSCHMA plans to organize similar engagements in Zone B and Zone C in the next quarter as part of its commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage in Yobe State by 2030.
