Breaking:Renowned Traditional Ruler, Mai Ngazargamu, Passes Away in Egypt

The Ngazargamu Emirate Council has announced the death of His Royal Highness, Mai Ngazargamu, Alh. Tijjani ibn Saleh Geidam, who passed away on Tuesday in Egypt following a prolonged illness.

The revered traditional ruler, who served as the custodian of the historic Ngazargamu Emirate's rich traditions and culture, died after a protracted battle with illness, according to an official statement released by the emirate council.

The remains of the late monarch will be transported back to Nigeria for funeral rites in Damaturu, though the emirate council stated that the date and time would be announced later.

Alh. Muhammad Alamai Baba Kankare, the Waziri of Ngazargamu, signed the official announcement on behalf of the council, which called on the public to offer prayers for the repose of the soul of the departed leader.

"Kullu Nafsin Zallikatul Maut," the statement read, invoking the Islamic reminder that every soul shall taste death. "May Allah have mercy on his soul, Amin."

The late Emir was a respected traditional leader who oversaw the preservation of the historic Ngazargamu emirate, a traditional state with deep historical significance in the region.
