For the first time in the history of our state, a candidate has been anointed by a sitting governor, yet the people have not felt the usual weight of imposition. Why? Because the people had already made their choice long before any official endorsement came.

Across Nigeria, when a sitting governor anoints a successor, resistance is almost guaranteed-whispers of "outsiders" or "loyalists" fill the air.
