Damaturu Flyover: Triacta Confirms Extended Timeline but Says Work Never Paused

The Area Regional Manager of Triacta Nigeria, Mr. Fadi Abi, confirmed on Wednesday that the Damaturu flyover project is now on an extended timeline, with completion set for December 2026, but he strongly emphasized that work has never stopped.

He made this known during an interview on the development with journalists in Damaturu, where he revealed that originally the flyover project was scheduled for 12 months, ending in February 2026, but the project's timeline was lengthened due to an increased scope of work.

However, Mr. Abi assured people of Yobe state that, unlike many contractors who have shut down nationwide due to diesel cost hikes and the ongoing war, Triacta has continued operations without pause.

"Our continuation period for this flyover project is until the final year, 2026. This phase is finished with 100% concrete work and paving. The stone foundation and asphalt will be done this month. So by the last week of this month (April) or the first week of next month (May), you will observe asphalt work here.

"Many contractors have halted due to diesel costs and the war, but we continue. Our equipment is fully operational. We have not paused. Our pledge is that people labor here daily," Mr. Abi added.

He further noted that the flyover is part of a larger scheme that includes the Potiskum–Maiduguri road duplication, with full drainage and road overlay across the entire zone.

Expressing pride in executing the Yobe State Government's vision, he stated, "What they have achieved is iconic. We are here to realize that vision, God willing."

The contractor guarantees performance regardless of economic pressure, reaffirming that the Damaturu flyover remains firmly on course for its 2026 completion.
