2027:Group Endorses Baba Malam Wali for Yobe Governor
A coalition of progressive indigenes from Yobe State and supporters outside the state has called on veteran administrator Baba Malam Wali to contest the 2027 governorship election, citing his decades of public service and administrative expertise.
In a statement signed by the group’s coordinators,Hussaini Abdullahi ,said Wali a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG)was described as a consensus candidate capable of driving inclusive development and good governance.
The group highlighted Wali’s career, which began in Borno State in 1989, and his subsequent roles in Yobe, including Programme Manager for the North-East Zone Agricultural Programme (NEZAP) and Permanent Secretary in multiple ministries.
He served as Acting SSG in July 2015 and was confirmed as substantive SSG in May 2019, serving successive administrations until his recent resignation.
Beyond his official posts, the group noted Wali’s personal commitment to mentoring youth and supporting educational aspirations.
They urged political leaders, community figures, and voters to rally behind him, pledging to mobilize across all local government areas to secure his victory in 2027.
