KACRAN Hails Governor Buni’s Leadership, Urges Other States to Emulate Yobe’s Food Security Model
The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has issued a strong endorsement of Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, praising his administration’s focus on food security, job creation, and human development.
In a statement released on Wednesday, KACRAN National President, Hon. Khalil Mohammed Bello, described Governor Buni as a visionary leader whose governance style prioritizes the security and wellbeing of his people.
The group highlighted the Governor’s accessibility and his commitment to understanding the grassroots needs of Yobe citizens as key factors in the state's recent progress.
"We desire a leader who clearly understands what his people need today, tomorrow, and for a century to come," Bello said. "His Excellency possesses all these enviable leadership qualities."
KACRAN specifically pointed to the Governor’s heavy investment in agriculture as a bulwark against potential famine.
According to the statement, the Buni administration spends billions of Naira annually to procure farm inputs, which are then distributed to farmers at affordable rates. This, the group argues, bolsters food security not only for Yobe but for neighboring states as well.
The association also praised the creation of a dedicated Ministry of Livestock, aimed at maintaining Yobe’s status as a leader in livestock population.
KACRAN further commended the administration’s infrastructure development—including roads and bridges linking rural areas to major cities—as vital for easing the transport of farm produce after harvests.
Beyond agriculture, the statement lauded Governor Buni for paying scholarships to thousands of indigenes for higher education within Nigeria and abroad, as well as employing thousands of youths into the civil service and creating empowerment programs for women.
The group specifically acknowledged the state’s emergency response efforts under SEMA Executive Secretary Dr. Mohammed Goje, noting the consistent distribution of relief materials to those affected by insurgency, floods, and fire disasters. KACRAN also highlighted the government's daily food distribution program during the current Ramadan period as a critical intervention to ensure citizens are well-fed.
Citing these initiatives, KACRAN appealed to the 36 state governors and the Federal Capital Territory administration to replicate Governor Buni’s model of investing in human capital and food production.
"We are appealing to our Governors to wisely emulate Governor Buni’s good example," Bello stated. "He is spending billions yearly on the maintenance of peace and security, ensuring his State is protected against the threat of famine."
The statement concluded with a prayer for unity and harmony in the nation.
