Army Announces Scheduled Demolition Exercise in Damaturu

The Headquarters Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI has informed the public of a scheduled demolition exercise involving the disposal of unserviceable ammunition.

The exercise will take place at the Damaturu Military Cantonment on Saturday, 14 March, and Sunday, 15 March 2026. Activities are set to commence daily at 8:00 a.m.

In a statement released, Lieutenant Ibrahim Bishir Kaita, Acting Assistant Director of Sector 2 Army Public Relations, advised residents of Damaturu and surrounding communities not to panic upon hearing loud explosions or gunshots coming from the cantonment during this period. 

He reassured the public that the sounds are a routine part of the military exercise and pose no danger.
