YOCO Takes Voter Sensitization to Dikumari,Urges Residents to Shun Electoral Violence
The Youth Coalition for a Better Yobe State (YOCO) has intensified its campaign to promote civic responsibility, conducting comprehensive voter education and sensitization programs across communities in the state.
In its most recent outreach, the State Coordinator, Mohammed A. Maina, led a sensitization exercise in the Dikumari Community of Damaturu Local Government Area.
Maina revealed ,the initiative was designed to inform residents about the critical importance of voter registration, active participation in elections, and the proper collection and use of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
During the interactive session, facilitators educated community members on the value of peaceful conduct during elections, the power of their votes in determining credible leadership, and the need to steer clear of electoral violence and misinformation.
Addressing the gathering, Coordinator Maina encouraged all eligible citizens with a special emphasis on youth and women to take part in the ongoing voter registration process and to remain engaged in upcoming electoral activities.
Residents of Dikumari commended YOCO for extending the awareness campaign to their locality, noting that the initiative has significantly enhanced their understanding of civic duties and democratic rights.
The Youth Coalition for a Better Yobe State has reiterated its dedication to strengthening democracy and promoting responsible citizenship across the state through sustained community engagement and educational outreach.
