APC Lauds Gov. Buni’s Expertise as Yobe Ward Congresses Conclude Without Rancor

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully conducted its ward congresses across all 178 wards in Yobe State, with national observers praising the process as peaceful, transparent, and largely uncontested.

Engineer Dr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, who led the APC Congress Committee in Yobe state attributed the smooth operation to the cooperative environment fostered by the state’s leadership.

He specifically commended Governor Mai Mala Buni, a former APC National Secretary, for his deep understanding of internal party processes."He knows the ins and outs of these activities and made it very simple for us," Darma stated.

On his part, the APC ward Congress Committee Chairman in Yobe,Professor David Yakubu emphasized that their primary mission was strictly verification, not selection.

"Our job was clear: to ensure that anyone seeking to lead the party at any level is first and foremost a registered member. You cannot lead in a political party where you are not a member.

"The committee successfully screened aspirants from all 178 wards, confirming their membership status and granting them clearance to contest."

The transparency of the process was further validated by the Screening Appeal Committee, which reported receiving zero petitions.

Dr. Francis Okoye, Chairman of the Appeal Committee, highlighted this as a significant indicator of success. "I can confirm that because nobody wrote any petition to my committee," Okoye said.

In his remarks, Yobe State Party Chairman Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka expressed gratitude to the national committees and reaffirmed the party’s unity under the APC banner, setting a positive tone for future electoral cycles.
