Potiskum -Damaturu highway:Trailer, Truck Crash Claims Six Lives; Two Survivors Hospitalized

Six people have died following a severe head-on collision between a trailer and a Canter truck on the Potiskum-Damaturu highway on Thursday 

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to our correspondent,the Canter truck was driving against the flow of traffic when it collided directly with the oncoming trailer.

The impact trapped four occupants inside the trailer, who were later pronounced dead. 

Personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) deployed a crane to lift the trailer and recover the victims.

The other two fatalities were occupants of the Canter truck. Two additional individuals survived the crash and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

FRSC officials are investigating the incident.
