Yobe State University Oversight Committee Inspects Campus Renovation Projects

The newly formed Committee on the Supervision of Minor Works Renovation at Yobe State University has commenced its oversight duties with a comprehensive inspection tour of key upgrade projects across the campus.

Led by its Chairman, Professor Mohammad Bello Kawuwa, the committee conducted its first official supervisory visit in partnership with the University Management. 

In a statement made available to journalist in damaturu by Uwani Zainab Mamuda,Director, Information and Protocol Yobe State University said,the visit objective was to evaluate the progress,quality, and adherence to specifications of numerous initiatives designed to enhance the university's infrastructure and foster a sustainable learning environment.

According to the statement,the inspection covered a wide array of critical projects, including;renovation of the University Council Chamber and extension of the low-tension power line to the Faculty of Agriculture,renovation of the Bursary Department and the offices of the Director of Works,construction of a new security outpost and renovation of the Administrative Block Mosque.

Other are;Procurement of office furniture for staff,renovation of twin 250-capacity and one 150-capacity lecture theatres and procurement of two official vehicles for the Bursar and the University Librarian.

During the site visits, Professor Kawuwa emphasized the non-negotiable nature of quality and timely delivery. 

He instructed the Director of Works to ensure all contractors adhere to the set standards and deadlines,revealing a target completion date for all projects in early January 2026.

"The committee is dedicated to ensuring these projects meet the required specifications and are delivered for the benefit of our university community," stated Professor Kawuwa. 

He also extended gratitude to the University Governing Council for entrusting him with the leadership of the committee.

The Acting Registrar, Mallam Garba Ahmadu Girgir,who accompanied the team,expressed his satisfaction with the progress observed. 

He commended the renovation initiative, affirming that "upon completion, these projects will significantly uplift the teaching, learning, and working conditions within the university."
