Healthcare Workers Honored as Yobe Holds 2025 Primary Healthcare Awards Ceremony.

 In a significant move to boost morale and recognise service, the Yobe State Government has honoured its most outstanding Primary Health Care (PHC) workers for 2025.

The "End of Year PHC Award" ceremony, held at the Summit Conference Hall in Damaturu, celebrated the frontline staff who form the backbone of the state's community health system.

Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by the Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr. Mohammad Lawan Gana,stated that the ceremony reflected the state's collective journey toward a healthier, more resilient future. 

He credited the state’s 2025 healthcare milestones including expanded PHC revitalization, improved immunization, and stronger disease surveillance directly to the dedication of the health workers being honoured.

The Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Baba Gana Kundi Machina, emphasized that the awards aim to foster positive competition and show staff that their work is valued.

The event also featured goodwill messages from major development partners, including WHO, UNICEF, and the Gates and Dangote Foundations, who united in praising the awardees.

Awards were presented across seven categories, recognising everything from best ward managers to meritorious service, highlighting the broad spectrum of effort required to sustain the PHC system. 

The event has been widely praised as a crucial morale booster for the sector as Yobe looks ahead to the new year.
