ADC Inaugurates Transition Committees, Unveils New Secretariat in Yobe, Eyes 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Yobe State has inaugurated two high-powered committees and unveiled a new state secretariat.

The event, which took place on Monday in Damaturu, was spearheaded by the party's state leader and former Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri. He charged the new committees with the critical mission of rebuilding the party from the ground up.

Waziri outlined the distinct mandates for the two committees. The Transitional Leadership Committee, to be chaired by former House of Representatives member Mohammed Kori, is tasked with identifying new party officers and driving public awareness of the ADC's revitalized agenda.

"The second, a Committee for Registration and Revalidation, will be led by Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Jawa. This team has the urgent responsibility of revalidating existing members and enrolling new ones into the party fold",said Waziri.

Emphasizing the urgency of the task, Waziri imposed a strict 90-day deadline for both committees to replicate their structures down to the local government, ward, and polling unit levels.

"This is to prepare for congresses that will elect permanent leaders ahead of our national convention,"he stated.

Setting an ambitious goal for the party, the ADC leader declared their aim to become Yobe's leading opposition party by the 2027 general elections.

"Our goal is to be well-positioned to reclaim the government and provide the people of Yobe with purposeful leadership," he affirmed.

The launch was cemented with the official opening of the party's newly constructed state secretariat, providing a physical hub for its renewed operations and signaling a new chapter for the ADC in the state.
