1,500 People Benefit as Medical Outreach Reaches Vulnerable Yobe Community

A joint medical outreach has provided essential healthcare services to 1,500 patients in Nayi Nawa, a community in Nguru Local Government Area of Yobe State on Friday.

The initiative was a collaboration between the Tiyoma Charitable Organisation and the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) from the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.

The community of Nayi Nawa, which lacks a primary healthcare centre, was chosen for its vulnerability. 

Dr. Aminu Habibu, President of the ARD, stated,"we realized this community has been battling challenges like flooding, which makes them vulnerable to diseases.

"Many patients at our medical centre are from here, so we decided to bring our services directly to them',he added

During the outreach, residents received free consultations, diagnoses for conditions like malaria and typhoid, and corresponding medications.

Kabiru Ahmed Muhammad of Tiyoma Charitable Organisation thanked the doctors for their partnership, emphasizing the organization's commitment to supporting those who cannot afford the cost of medication.
