KACRAN Commends Potiskum LG Chair for Proactive Conflict Resolution

The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN),has commended Potiskum Local Government Chairman,Salisu Muktari for proactive stance with significantly fostering peace in the region.

In a statement by the KACRAN National President, Khalil Moh’d Bello said, Muktari's proactive and democratic approach is key to fostering peace and preventing conflict.Bello asserted that this strategy offers a lasting solution to the persistent farmer-herder clashes affecting the area.

He explained that KACRAN's core mission is to promote peaceful coexistence by advocating for the reclamation of grazing reserves, the opening of cattle routes, and the development of essential livestock infrastructure.This focus aims to address root causes of tension.

The statement also emphasized that the association urges both herders and farmers to respect one another's land and livelihoods. Furthermore,KACRAN actively supports government and individual efforts designed to benefit pastoral communities across Nigeria.

"Chairman Muktari's actions have consistently demonstrated his commitment to these peace and development goals.

" Last year, promptly following an order from Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni,Chairman Muktari was among the first local government leaders to establish a dedicated committee tasked with protecting grazing reserves and cattle routes.

"This inclusive committee,featuring representatives from farmers,herders, traditional rulers,and security operatives, successfully prevented any conflicts between farmers and herders throughout the entire year—a significant achievement.

"Honorable Salisu Muktari has proven to be a genuine and proactive leader who listens attentively to his constituents.

"His swift action in forming the committee and providing it with the necessary support was instrumental in maintaining peace",said the KACRAN President.

The Association extended gratitude to the management staff of the Potiskum Local Government Council for their unwavering support and cooperation.

KACRAN urged all 17 Executive Local Government Chairmen in Yobe State to emulate the exemplary leadership of Honorable Salisu Muktari. By prioritizing diplomacy and proactively addressing community needs, these leaders can significantly contribute to the state's transformation, job creation, and youth and women empowerment, as envisioned by Governor Buni.
