PDP Support Groups in Yobe Deny Party Collapse,Decry ADC "Falsehoods"
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Support Groups in Yobe State, has categorically denied claims that the party is collapsing and merging with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Addressing a press briefing on Wednesday alongside key party stakeholders, the Director People Democratic Party (PDP)Support Group in Yobe state,Lawan Munkaila urged the party members to dismissed recent assertions by the ADC as falsehoods spread by desperate allies.
Munkaila stated that, the PDP in Yobe State is not dead, not divided, not weakened, rather it remains the most organized, experienced, and people oriented political platform in the state.
He specifically refuted rumours that the PDP structure had collapsed into the ADC, calling it a "baseless rumour" and a "lie."
He asserted that "no official executive of the PDP from ward to state level has joined the ADC."
According to the Director, the only individuals leaving the PDP are a few frustrated and self centered individuals who were never truly loyal.
He singled out former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri, accusing him of benefiting significantly from the PDP including platforms to become Minister, PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, and Senatorial Candidate only to engage in anti-party activities and defect when exposed.
Munkaila characterized Waziri's move to the ADC, which he described as having "no structure or grassroots acceptance in Yobe," as inconsequential to the PDP.
"His defection does not shake the PDP in any way.In fact, it is a relief. The PDP is now cleaner, more united, and more focused," he claimed.
