NIPR Borno Chapter Leadership Honoured with Awards of Recognition
The Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Borno State Chapter, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Tijjani, and the Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Naomi Abwaku, have been honoured with prestigious Awards of Recognition for their exceptional contributions to the revitalization and growth of the Institute in Borno State.
Umar Mohammed Tijjani received the Award of Excellent Leadership in recognition of his outstanding efforts in rejuvenating the activities of the NIPR within the state and strengthening its institutional presence.
Mrs. Naomi Abwaku, alongside Comrade Dauda Iliya, were conferred with Merit Awards of PR Practitioners of Distinction, celebrating their unwavering commitment and impactful contributions to the promotion and development of the public relations profession in Borno State.
The awards were presented by the Department of Mass Communication, Borno State University (BOSU), as part of its ongoing efforts to bridge academic learning with professional practice and to recognize excellence in public service and communication.
The recognition ceremony was a highlight of a broader academic event, which featured a Mock Annual General Meeting organized by 300-level students of the department. The exercise formed part of their practical engagement under the course Advanced Public Relations, designed to equip students with hands-on experience in event planning, strategic communication, and stakeholder engagement.
This milestone not only underscores the vibrant leadership within the NIPR Borno Chapter but also exemplifies the fruitful collaboration between academia and industry in fostering professional growth and ethical standards in public relations practice.
