Kuchichi Elected New NYCSO Chairman, Outlines Vision for the Network-Pictures

The newly elected Chairman of the Network of Yobe Civil Society Organizations (NYCSO),Mohammed Baba Kuchichi,has expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the organization’s recent election.  

Held on Wednesday at the NUJ Secretariat,the election was attended by representatives from various civil society groups across the state,marking a significant transition as the organization enters a new chapter under fresh leadership.  

Kuchichi revealed that while only two offices were contested,the remaining 14 were unopposed.

He praised the sportsmanship displayed among contestants and declared the election a success.  

Outlining his vision for the network, Kuchichi emphasized increasing the visibility of member organizations and strengthening partnerships with government agencies at both state and local levels.He also aims to forge new collaborations to amplify the network’s impact.  

"We want to strengthen these partnerships so that we will have a sense of belonging in this country.For those already in partnership with us,we will strengthen those ties,"said Kuchichi.  

The newly elected chairman added that, for organizations not yet partnered with NYCSO, they would extend a hand of friendship to establish collaboration.  

The NYCSO 2025 Electoral Committee Chairman,Faruk Abdullahi Chiromari, announced the election winners after voting,sorting,and counting ballots for each contested office.  

According to the Electoral Committee Chairman,the newly elected officers include;Mohammed Baba Kuchichi- Executive Director,Ali Gambo Tarbutu- Deputy Executive Director Programs,Kudirat Khashim-Deputy Executive Director Admin,Musa Garba– Head of General Administration and Musa Mohammad-Head of Finance and Operations  

Other elected officials are;Dr. Zara Yusuf Ahmed- Head of Emergency, Humanitarian,and Development Services,Ibrahim Babangida Imam– Head of Education Program,Dr. Muazu Adamu – Head of Health and WASH,Adamu Hassan Yunusa-Head of Youth Empowerment and Program,Hauwa Hassan-Head of Gender and Social Inclusion. 

Additionally;Muazu Alhaji Modu-Head of Advocacy and Partnership,Usman Adamu Mohammad-Head of Public Affairs and Communication,Fatima Alhaji Mohammad-Head of Legal and Corporate Matters,Maikudi Magaji-Head of MEAL and Idriss Alhaji Abba-Community Outreach and Governance Advisor.
