Join the Digital Revolution:MEDCI Offers Free ICT Training,Licensed Software for Youth

In an efforts to bridge the digital divide,a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Media and Disability Care Initiative (MEDCI) has equipped young technicians including persons with disabilities with vital ICT skills and licensed software, fostering digital inclusion and economic empowerment in Yobe state. 

The free training, held on sunday provided hands on technical knowledge and genuine software to help participants enhance their businesses.  

Speaking at the event,MEDCI’s Head of ICT,Mr Iliyasu Zanna said,the initiative underscores the growing need for accessible digital tools in today’s tech driven economy.  

He explained that,the program is about leveling the playing field ,ensuring that youths, especially those with disabilities have the skills and resources to compete and thrive.

One beneficiary, a visually impaired mobile phone technician,shared his excitement, "For the first time,I received genuine software without breaking the bank.This training boosts both my skills and my business’s credibility."

MEDCI’s initiative highlights its commitment to inclusive development through education and digital access.Similar programs,like Bizmarrow Technologies’ practical ICT training in Nigeria, reflect a global push to upskill marginalized communities.
