BioRTC:Gov.Buni Backs Kidney Research After Receiving Report

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has commended the Biomedical Science Research and Training Center (BioRTC) for their dedication to addressing health challenges, particularly in identifying the causative agents of kidney issues in Yobe State.  

The Governor made the commendation on Sunday during a courtesy visit paid to him by the 5th Summer School of the Biomedical Science Research and Training Center (BioRTC) at the Government House.

The team presented preliminary findings on strategic recommendations for addressing chronic kidney disease in the state.  

He praised the team's community engagement, mobilization, and sensitization efforts, highlighting the importance of sequential persuasion and community attachment in research.  

Buni underscored the significance of education and health, stating that "today’s currency is education, and health is wealth."  

Earlier, the Director of BioRTC, Dr. Mahmud Bukar Maina, presented the preliminary findings, noting that the state government’s commitment to supporting kidney disease research is unprecedented.  

He recommended immediate actions, including supporting individuals with advanced stages of kidney disease, launching community outreach programs, and conducting targeted screenings for high-risk groups.  

Governor Buni’s commitment to health research and support for the BioRTC team marks a significant step toward improving health outcomes in Yobe State.
