Gov. Buni,Security Chiefs Hold Urgent Meeting Ahead of Eid al-Kabir

Governor Mai Mala Buni chaired a significant meeting with security officials in Yobe State to review the state's security situation and finalize preparations for the upcoming Eid al-Kabir celebration, set to take place on Friday.

The meeting was conducted under the representation of the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali, following Governor Buni's directive while he is currently in Saudi Arabia undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage.

Governor Buni described the gathering as "essential" for assessing the overall security climate in the state and ensuring that comprehensive measures are established for the important religious holiday.While noting that the current security status is "generally stable," Buni stressed the importance of remaining vigilant. 

Briefing journalists after the security meeting, Yobe State Commissioner of Police, represented by DCP Saleh Sama'ila, said the meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming Sallah celebration that have been extensively discussed.

 He revealed that, the meeting resulted in agreement on how to manage all aspects of the Sallah celebration within Damaturu and other locations across the state.

The Commissioner further explained that security arrangements have been finalized and personnel have been adequately deployed.

"I want to assure citizens that the Sallah celebration will be hitch-free. Security agencies are fully prepared. We are confident the celebration will proceed smoothly," said the Yobe CP.

Attendees of this crucial security meeting included leaders from various security agencies, such as the Police, Army, DSS, Civil Defence, Immigration, NDLEA, Road Safety Corps, the Governor's Security Advisor, and the Director of Security for Yobe State.
