The Fulbe Development and Cultural Organization (FUDECO), Yobe State Chapter, recently organized a one-day dissemination workshop to present research findings compiled by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Supporting Pastoralism and Agriculture in Recurrent Crises (SPARC) GES Project.

The workshop, held at the Summit Conference Hall in Damaturu, was presided over by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio.

In his remarks, Mashio emphasized that the research findings would significantly contribute to the preservation and development of Fulani cultural heritage.

FUDECO Yobe State Chairman, Aliyu Usman Jajere, represented by the  Secretary, Musa Waziri Kollere, outlined the key findings of the research, which focused on promoting Gender Equality Services (GES) within pastoralist communities. 
Critical stakeholders at the event highlighted the importance of supporting pastoralism and agriculture in crisis-prone regions, identifying them as key areas requiring urgent attention.

The workshop, organized in collaboration with the National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE), aimed to foster sustainable development and cultural preservation among Fulani communities. 

By sharing research findings and promoting dialogue, the event sought to drive positive change and support the well-being of pastoralist communities in Yobe State.
