Borno Senator Mourns Passing of Former Lawmaker Babagana Tijjani Banki


The Senator representing Borno Central, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, SAN, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former federal lawmaker Hon. Babagana Tijjani Banki, describing his passing as "a loss too great" for his family, community, and the entire state.  

Hon. Banki, a prominent figure in Borno politics, served three terms in the House of Representatives and later as a member of the Borno State Executive Council. Known for his role as a consensus builder and dedicated public servant, he left a lasting legacy among colleagues and his community, where he was a respected leader.  

Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan extended his condolences to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, the Shehu of Bama, the state executive council, and the bereaved family.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased, asking for his admission into Paradise.  

The senator also offered prayers for the family and friends mourning Hon. Banki’s irreplaceable loss, remembering him for his warmth, generosity, and uplifting spirit.  

"Hon. Babagana Tijjani Banki will be dearly missed for his kind heart and cheerful presence," Senator Lawan added.
