Yobe Prepares for Historic Town Hall Meeting with Gov. Buni on 6th Anniversary

Yobe State is set to hold its first-ever town hall meeting with Governor Mai Mala Buni to mark his six years in office and showcase his administration’s achievements.  

Dr. Ibrahim Yabani, Special Advisor to the Governor on Media, announced the event during a press briefing on Saturday, describing it as a key opportunity for citizens, journalists, and stakeholders to engage directly with the governor.  

He revealed,the meeting will foster transparency and accountability by allowing open dialogue on community issues. 

Dr Yabani explained that the forum will enable officials to share policy updates and gather public feedback, following a model used successfully in places like the U.S.  

"The governor is ready to answer questions from all attendees not just the press.

"Citizens can ask about promises made, progress achieved, and challenges faced,"he added.

Dr. Yabani emphasized the town hall’s role in promoting the Freedom of Information principle while ensuring orderly and constructive discussions.  

The event which will take place on the 29 of may ,2025 ,aims to strengthen trust between the government and the people, with hopes of making it a regular practice in Yobe’s governance.
